Terms of Service
Return Home1. Scope and Acceptance
Green Tech is a Thirdrez Lab brand creating virtual products and experiences for use in the Second Life® virtual world. These Terms apply to the Green Tech website, promotional offers, GreenTech Inner Circle participation, and Green Tech digital products.
By submitting an Inner Circle preference or purchasing, receiving, downloading, or using a Green Tech product, you agree to the sections of these Terms applicable to that activity. Product details displayed in the applicable offer or listing, the transaction terms of the sales channel, and any mandatory rights provided by law also apply.
Personal-data practices are described separately in our Privacy Policy.
2. GreenTech Inner Circle
Inner Circle participation is free, voluntary, and designed for occasional Green Tech product-drop notifications delivered in-world through Second Life. It is not an email newsletter.
You may Join or Leave at any time through the official web controls or the official in-world VIP Panel, without sending an email. Submit only your own Second Life avatar information, or information you are expressly authorized to manage. Enrolling, removing, impersonating, or interfering with another resident without authorization is prohibited.
In-world notification delivery depends partly on Second Life platform availability and account settings. Leaving stops future Green Tech Inner Circle notifications after the request has been successfully processed, subject to any notification already in transit.
3. Digital Products, Delivery, and Fair Resolution
Green Tech products are digital virtual goods. They cannot be physically returned, and copy-enabled items may remain usable after delivery. Where no mandatory withdrawal or refund right applies, we therefore do not ordinarily issue a refund solely because a buyer changed their mind after successful delivery.
This is not an absolute no-refund rule and does not restrict any non-waivable consumer right.
Please contact us when:
- a completed charge is recorded but the product was not delivered;
- the same transaction was charged more than once;
- a material defect prevents an expressly advertised function and the issue cannot reasonably be corrected; or
- the delivered product materially differs from the applicable description or included contents.
After reasonable verification, the appropriate resolution may include redelivery, configuration assistance, an update or repair, replacement, or a refund. The remedy depends on the circumstances, applicable law, and the rules and technical capabilities of the transaction platform.
A refund is not ordinarily available solely because published compatibility requirements, permissions, maturity restrictions, or instructions were overlooked; a third-party viewer, script, modification, or later platform change caused the issue; or personal preference changed. Mandatory legal rights remain unaffected.
For investigation, provide the product name, transaction reference, purchase date, and a concise description of the problem. Screenshots may help. Never send us your password, authentication token, or unrelated private information.
4. Product Licenses and Permissions
A purchase grants the license stated in the applicable product listing, included documentation, and Second Life permissions. Unless a product-specific license expressly grants broader rights, the license is limited, non-exclusive, personal, and restricted to the product’s intended use within the Second Life virtual world.
Second Life permissions describe what the platform technically allows; they do not by themselves transfer copyright, source ownership, or broader intellectual-property rights. Creator kits, transfer-enabled items, full-permission resources, or commercially licensed assets remain governed by their product-specific license and permissions.
Except where expressly permitted by a product-specific license or applicable law, you may not extract, copy, redistribute, resell, sublicense, publish, reverse engineer, defeat technical protections, remove ownership information from, or exploit Green Tech meshes, textures, animations, sounds, scripts, documentation, or proprietary technology outside their intended scope.
If an item is transfer-enabled, it may be transferred only in the form and scope allowed by its listing, documentation, and permissions. The recipient receives no greater rights than those originally granted.
5. Compatibility and Customer Responsibilities
Review the product description, included contents, permissions, required viewer or body, land-impact information, and any setup instructions before purchase. Use products only as intended and in compliance with Second Life rules and applicable law.
You are responsible for maintaining your own Second Life account and for changes you make to a product where modification is allowed. Green Tech remains responsible for verified issues attributable to its own product to the extent required by applicable law.
6. Promotions and Limited-Time Offers
Each promotion may define its own product, launch price, period, quantity, eligibility conditions, included items, and bonuses. Review both the promotional page and the final transaction screen before purchasing.
Offers may expire or become unavailable according to their stated time or quantity limits. Green Tech may change future availability, but such changes do not reduce rights attached to a completed transaction. The description and offer applicable at the time of purchase, together with mandatory law, govern that transaction.
7. Adult-Rated Products and Eligibility
Green Tech offers both general and Adult-rated virtual products. Adult-rated products and offers may be accessed or purchased only by users who are at least 18 years old—or the higher age of legal majority in their jurisdiction—and eligible to access the corresponding Second Life maturity level.
Any sexual content involving minors or child-presenting avatars, prohibited age-play, exploitation, harassment, or unlawful conduct is strictly forbidden. Users must comply with Second Life maturity ratings, account requirements, Community Standards, and applicable law.
8. Second Life Platform and Independence
Second Life and the Second Life Marketplace are operated independently by Linden Research, Inc. Your account, platform access, L$ transactions, and use of the service are also subject to the official Second Life Terms and Conditions, Community Standards, and applicable Marketplace policies.
Green Tech does not control platform outages, inventory systems, account restrictions, viewer behavior, or unrelated third-party services. This platform dependency does not remove any responsibility Green Tech may have for a verified issue attributable to its own product.
